HL7 Canada

Overview

This group is a collaborative forum supporting the use and evolution of HL7‑based health information standards in Canada. It does this by enabling coordination, consultation, and knowledge sharing related to pan‑Canadian messaging standards, HL7 artifacts, and alignment with HL7 International. This matters because interoperable standards depend on transparent, consensus‑based input from implementers, jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to support consistent and reliable health information exchange.

Ultimately, this work helps participants contribute to and apply HL7 standards in ways that support interoperability across Canada’s digital health ecosystem.

Who it’s for

Intended for members of the HL7 Canada constituency, jurisdictions, implementers, vendors, policymakers, and standards participants who are involved in the development, review, governance, or implementation of HL7‑based pan‑Canadian health information standards.
