Chapter 2: Communities and Working Groups

What this chapter helps you do

Understand the two types of groups and what participation looks like in each.

Groups are the foundation of Accelerō. They bring people together around shared topics or defined objectives. There are two types of groups on the platform: Communities and Working Groups.

Communities🤝

What they are
Communities are ongoing spaces with no set end date. They support open discussion and knowledge sharing over time around a specific topic area.

What happens here

  • Asking and answering questions

  • Sharing insights, updates, or resources

  • Staying connected to developments related to the topic

Participation in Communities is flexible. Many members start by reading discussions and contribute when they have something to share.

Working Groups 🎯

What they are
Working Groups are created with a specific purpose and goal in mind. They are typically time‑bound and exist for as long as the work requires.

What happens here

  • Meetings or working sessions hosted by Infoway staff

  • Requests for feedback or review

  • Collaboration toward defined outputs or outcomes

Working Groups often involve a more structured form of participation, but it’s still okay to begin by observing and getting familiar with the group’s focus and activity.

Good to know 💡

Some groups are open to all members, while others are restricted. If a group requires approval to join, you’ll be notified once your request has been reviewed.
