Engage thoughtfully, listen to different perspectives, and keep discussions constructive and focused on the work.
The Rule Book
We aren't fond of the word 'rules', so don’t take these as a strict set of rules, but more of a set of recommendations for a fun, friendly, and inviting way of communication.
1. Be professional and respectful
2. Share responsibly and thoughtfully
Post relevant, accurate content, avoid repetition or promotion, and never share personal or health‑related information.
3. Collaborate with purpose
Contribute knowledge, ask informed questions, and participate in ways that support shared progress and alignment.
Welcome to Our Community
This space serves as a collaboration platform for sharing knowledge, coordinating work, and supporting alignment across Canada’s digital health ecosystem. It brings together people working across jurisdictions, care settings, and technology environments, and provides structured spaces for groups, discussions, and resources related to interoperability, standards, and implementation. Accelerō is more than a platform—it’s a shared commitment to building a more connected, interoperable, and patient‑focused health system, where contributions help shape national direction, accelerate innovation, and bring practical solutions to the front lines of care.
We aim to create a welcoming, respectful environment where people can ask questions, test ideas, share implementation experience, and work through complex topics together. Whether you are contributing regularly or visiting occasionally, your perspective and expertise help others move work forward, and if you are new here, exploring a group aligned with your interests is a great place to start. The sections that follow describe how we work together to support thoughtful participation, responsible sharing, and productive collaboration across the platform.
Expected Conduct 🤝
All participants are expected to engage in a professional, respectful, and constructive manner. To that end:
Respectful tone: Treat others with courtesy, even when perspectives differ.
Idea focus: Challenge ideas, not people.
Constructive disagreement: Disagree thoughtfully without personal attacks, harassment, or dismissive behaviour.
Solution orientation: Keep discussions calm and geared toward progress, especially on complex topics.
Practical tip: If a message could be read multiple ways, add a sentence of intent (e.g., “Sharing this as a suggestion,” “Question for clarification,” “Offering a different interpretation”).
Together, we build a space rooted in trust, accountability, and safety.
Participation that helps others 🌱
Small choices make the platform easier and more welcoming for everyone:
Clear headings: Use descriptive subject lines so people can quickly understand the topic.
Readable format: Keep posts scannable with short paragraphs and plain language.
Acronym clarity: Explain acronyms at least once, especially in mixed audiences.
Feedback context: When asking for input, share what decision you’re supporting and what you need.
Lessons learned: Share what worked, what didn’t, and what you would do differently next time.
Attribution practice: Credit others when building on their ideas or work.
Inclusive dialogue: Invite perspectives from different roles when a thread needs broader input.
Appropriate use ✅
To keep the platform useful, trustworthy, and easy for others to navigate:
Relevant sharing: Post content that fits the purpose and scope of the Working Group or discussion.
No repetition: Avoid repeatedly posting the same links or messages across groups.
Thread reuse: Check for existing discussions before starting a new thread.
Authorized disclosure: Do not share confidential or proprietary information unless you are authorized to do so.
Identity integrity: Do not misrepresent your identity, role, or organizational affiliation.
Licensing awareness: Some content may be subject to additional licensing or usage terms, which participants are responsible for reviewing and following.
Privacy and safety 🛡️
Accelerō supports professional collaboration, not the exchange of personal or sensitive data. Discussions should focus on standards, implementation approaches, lessons learned, and system‑level considerations—not on individual people or identifiable records.
No personal or health data:
Do not post, request, or share any personal, identifiable, or health‑related information on the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, patient names, initials, dates of birth, health card numbers, clinical notes, screenshots of records, test results, referral details, or any information that could reasonably be used to identify a person or reveal their health status.
Safe examples:
When discussing real‑world scenarios or implementation experiences, use high‑level, non‑identifying descriptions. Generalize details, remove dates and locations, and avoid combinations of information that could indirectly identify an individual, even if names are not used.
Responsible response:
If personal or health‑related information appears on the platform in error, do not quote, repost, or respond to it directly. Avoid amplifying the content and flag it promptly for review so it can be addressed appropriately.
Content standards 🧾
Accelerō is a professional collaboration space. The following are not permitted:
Illegal content: Content or activities that are unlawful.
Harassing behaviour: Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory language.
Misleading information: Misinformation presented as fact.
Unrelated promotion: Spam, promotional advertising, or solicitation unrelated to the group’s purpose.
Content shared on Accelerō may be visible to others and reused to support collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Views expressed by participants are their own and do not represent the positions of Canada Health Infoway.
Moderation and access 🛠️
Infoway manages Accelerō to support productive collaboration and protect the integrity of Working Group spaces.
Role-based access: Participation in some Working Groups may be restricted based on governance, mandate, or role.
Moderation action: Infoway may moderate content, remove material, limit participation, or suspend access where necessary to maintain a respectful and effective environment.
In practice: moderation is intended to keep the space safe, usable, and aligned to each Working Group’s purpose—not to adjudicate technical debates.
